Our Farms: Kentucky

The 400 acre Lexington, Kentucky farm serves as our primary breeding facility. It is the year-round home for our broodmares, foals, and young horses. It also serves as the summer home for our competition horses. Noted for it's nutritious "bluegrass," Kentucky is famous for having soil rich in limestone which helps to strengthen the developing bones of young horses. Our resident veterinarian oversees our breeding program and offers expert guidance and advice to those who elect to breed to our stallions.

Our location allows us to take full advantage of the world class equine resources in the area including veterinarians, farriers, feed companies, the The Gluck Equine Research Center, and the home offices of the USEF, USHJA and many others. The farm is conveniently located adjacent to the Kentucky Horse Park and is less than five minutes from the renowned Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital and Hagyard Equine Medical Center.

The newest addition to Spy Coast Farm Kentucky is our state of the art Young Horse Development Center. This is the location where our young horses begin their life under saddle. The facility is equipped with an 80 x 150 outdoor arena, and a 100 x 200 indoor arena complete with top of the line all weather footing. Our Young Horse Development center also has a 6 horse hot walker with lunging circle and a treadmill as well as 32 12 x 12 stalls. Numerous paddocks are available for individual turnout as well as larger paddocks for group turnout. This facility was designed to best suit the needs of our young horses and we look forward to many youngsters passing through the barn doors!
