BWP Elite Mare

“She is one of the best horses in the world in my opinion.” Highest praise from British Olympic rider, Ben Maher, for Rolette after the pair jumped the third round clear in the 2008 Olympics. Their one rail, one-time fault effort through three Olympic rounds was the catalyst for Great Britain’s fifth place finish and qualified them for the Individual Finals. What many don’t realize is that less than a year before the Olympics, Rolette was competing at the 1.4m level. But after being teamed up with 25-year old Maher, the duo quickly catapulted onto the international scene with Grand Prix wins in Maastricht and Mechelen. They soon found themselves, however unlikely just 10 months earlier, bound for the Olympics and what would become a near-story book ending for both horse and rider.

We were very fortunate to acquire this special mare in 2008 shortly after her successful Olympic performance. Over the past three seasons, Rolette has demonstrated her tremendous heart and talent, compiling numerous Top-10 finishes on the Grand Prix field. She has also produced several offspring for our breeding program through embryo transfer. Her offspring entering the competition world include: Kentucky Bourbon SCF, Kimmel SCF, Laguvulin SCF and Loletta SCF.
