Claudy Bay Z
Cumano - Forever - Saturn
1999 16.2h Gray Zangersheide Mare
BWP Elite Mare
Performance breeding at its highest level, Claudy Bay Z represents the very best of the pan-European breeding philosophy that quickly made the Zangersheide studbook a formidable competitor to the iconic and stalwart registries of the continent. A direct daughter of the elite international performer and producer Cumano (Cassini I-Landgraf), Claudy Bay’s pedigree is comprised of the elite jumping blood of Holstein, Holland, Hannover and Trakehn. Given the very limited number of Cumano offspring in the world, Claudy Bay Z is a rare gem in any breeding program. Sire Cumano won the prestigious, high stakes Grand Prix of Calgary in 2004 and then competed in the Olympics for the Belgian team with Jos Lansink. In 2006, Cumano earned the World Champion title at the World Equestrian Games, not only carrying his rider to the world title, but also giving the other top 3 riders in the jump off an amazing ride. In 2007, he followed up his WEG performance and just narrowly missed out on gold at the European Championships. In 2008, Cumano again competed in the Olympics in Hong Kong with a 9th place overall finish. As all Cumano offspring seem to do, Claudy Bay was a very successful competitor before we retired her to become a broodmare. Claudy captured numerous top placings in Europe’s most competitive Five, Six and Seven-Year Old classes and finals, including a top-10 finish at the World Breeding Jumping Championship in 2004. After import to the United States, Claudy Bay was paired with Diamond Edge Farm’s Christina Kelly and earned top ribbons in the intensely competitive Junior Jumper divisions. Claudy Bay’s first foal by Amaretto D’Arco, Labatt Bleu SCF, was the Champion colt of the BWP-NA tour in 2011.
