Industry Exploration Days
Once each quarter, students participate in an Industry Exploration Day, an immersive opportunity designed to broaden their understanding of the equine industry beyond the farm setting. These experiences highlight the depth and diversity of Central Kentucky’s equine community, exposing students to leading businesses, professionals, and facilities that contribute to the success of the region’s horse industry.

Past Exploration Days have included visits to:

• Thoroughbred breeding sheds

• Local veterinary hospitals and referral clinics

• Thoroughbred racecourses

• Equine feed production plants

• Educational seminars and industry panels

Through these experiences, students gain valuable insight into how Kentucky produces and supports elite horses across disciplines. They also benefit from the chance to network with a wide range of industry professionals—building connections, expanding career awareness, and developing a deeper appreciation for the many facets of the equine profession.
