"I have trained several King Kolibri youngsters and they all love their job. They all appear to have athletic potential for the jumper ring as well as rideability. They tend to be substantial horses who will present their owners with opportunities for successful careers." - Elaine Schott, River Mountain Farm
"King Kolibri sets himself apart from other horses by his combination of exceptional traits. In the tradition of his dam and sire, he was special. He possessed mental acuity and stamina and his cool head in competition was matched by his power and grace. King Kolibri fed off the atmosphere of an important venue or class and knew when it counted. He was a lion at the show, but at home he was a sweet, easy horse to work around." Jeannie Tisbo, owner
King Kolibri is an internationally proven competitor with a noteworthy pedigree to match. His sire, Kolibri, is an important stallion in Eastern Europe where he sired many respectable show jumpers. King Kolibri’s dam, Athletica, won the final of the Toscana Tour for 7 year olds. Athletica’s sire, Libero H, is another influential stallion of the past decade found in many pedigrees of high performance horses.
In the beginning of his career, Jos Lansink successfully piloted the stallion around many Grand Prix tracks. In 2011 his results included 6th place in the CSI5* Prix Europa in Aachen, 7th in the CSI5* Dublin Grand Prix, 3rd in the CSI5* 1.50 in St Gallen, and 10th in the 1.45 CSI5* in Rome.
In 2011, King Kolibri was sold to American rider, Lauren Tisbo. The pair’s first big result together was a 5th place finish in the $500,000 CSI5* Grand Prix in Wellington, FL and a 4th place finish in the CSI5* Queens Cup at Spruce Meadows. During 2013, they had top results in Wellington, FL including a 6th place finish in the CSI3* Grand Prix.
As a breeding stallion, King Kolibri has over 70 offspring with many competing up to 1.45m and 1.50m level. Stallions Bjorn H and King Julio have 1.50m records with King Julio qualifying for the World Breeding Finals in Lanaken 2 years in a row as a young stallion. Katinka Dree Boeken, ridden by Dani G Waldman (ISR) is another super product of King Kolibri. King Kolibri also has a handful of successful eventers including Cekatinka (CCI5*), El Kolibri (CCI4*-L), and Etokwick (CCI4*-S).
King Kolibri offspring are good minded, easy to start, have balanced gaits, and nice mouths. He is a top option for blood type mares.
